HECS (Higher Education Contribution Scheme)

this is a loan scheme whereby a university student pays back their university course fees. Repayments are based on a progressively scaled percentage of annual earnings once a minimum earnings threshold is met.

To qualify for HECS you must be studying in a Commonwealth supported place, be an Australian citizen and meet the residency requirements, or be a New Zealand Special Category Visa (SCV) holder or permanent humanitarian visa holder and meet the residency requirements.
